FIRST YEAR OF B.A./ B.A. (HONS.) GERMAN STUDIES / U.G. CERTIFICATE IN GERMAN STUDIES:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Candidates passed with 45% in XII Standard of any stream recognized by the University of Mumbai OR Passed Equivalent Academic Level 4.0
Admission shall be done on merit basis i.e. according to the percentage in the qualifying exam and performance in the entrance test (Personal Interview) conducted by the Department of German.
Reservation of seats as per University rules and policies. No prior German knowledge is required for admission to F.Y.B.A. in German Studies. Kindly bring along your self attested qualifying exam certificate's for the Personal interview.

ENTRANCE TEST
The Entrance Test / Personal Interview for the First Year of BA (Three Years) / BA (Hons.) (Four Years) (German Studies) will test your basic general knowledge, aptitude for language learning and language proficiency in English/Hindi/Marathi.

OFFLINE Written Entrance Test Date:
Entrance Test and Personal Interview will be held on 26th May 2025; 31st May 2025, 5th June 2025 at 11:00 a.m; 24th June 2025 and 27th June 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at the Department of German, Room No. 111, First floor, B-Wing, Ranade Bhavan, University of Mumbai Kalina Campus, Santacruz East, Mumbai 400098.

SECOND YEAR OF B.A./ B.A. (HONS.) GERMAN STUDIES / U.G. DIPLOMA IN GERMAN STUDIES

Under Graduate Certificate in German Studies OR Passed Equivalent Academic Level 4.5 + CEFR Level A1 & A2 + Passed the written and oral entrance test of the Department of German, University of Mumbai.
Kindly bring along your self attested qualifying exam certificate's for the Personal interview.

Entrance Test will be held on Monday, 26th May 2025; 31st May 2025 and 5th June 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Department of German, Room No. 111, First floor, B-Wing, Ranade Bhavan, University of Mumbai Kalina Campus, Santacruz East, Mumbai 400098.

Guidelines for admission to B.A. in German Studies:
This integrated programme will enable the students to attain a B.A. (three years)/ B.A. (Hons.) (four years), degree in German. Besides giving in-depth knowledge of German language, literature and culture, this programme also promotes possibility of intercultural studies leading to a better understanding between cultures.

Exam Fees: For FYBA & SYBA : Rs. 1320 (Rs. 660/- per semester) will be taken at the time of admission.​

Duration: Six Semesters/ Eight Semesters.
Timings: Five days a week. Mon-Fri/Sat, 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Exam: Continuous Evaluation (50 marks) & Semester End Exam (50 marks).
Standard of Passing: 40%
Attendance: 75% attendance is mandatory for each course.
